If you’re with someone that you aren’t proud of, someone that you feel like you need to keep a secret instead of showing them off, then what’s the point? When I say ‘showing off’ I don’t mean gloating, I mean, being proud to have them, knowing you’re lucky enough to have them, and making them feel like it. If you’re with someone that you don’t feel like doing that with, then you’re wasting both of your time. Especially when the other person is more than willing to show you how proud they are to have you, and all you want to do is hide them away. It hurts when someone treats you like a secret, something they aren’t proud of. It hurts when someone treats you like you’re not good enough.
